Florence E. Key was truly an Angel from God. She offered her time, talents and gifts to her church family over many, many years. Now God has called his angel home to be with her family.
Florence was born September 18, 1930 to the late William and Florence Davis in Cincinnati, Ohio. Florence was a product of Cincinnati Public Schools including Walnut Hills High School and Poro Beauty School with a license in Cosmetology.
Florence retired from Hamilton County Welfare (now J&FS) as a Social Worker for 30+ years. She then worked part time for 20 years as a companion for the Seniors at Evergreen Retirement Home.
Florence was united in marriage to Melvin Key in 1954. From this union, they had 2 sons, Bruce R. Key and Vinson J. Key. Their family also included John D. McCoy (Ella), Laureece E. Johnson, and Melvin U. Walker (Shirley).
Florence had 10 brothers and sisters, the late, William R. Davis, James Davis, LaVern Miller, Juanita Hamilton, Alice Patricia Matthews, Geraldine Johnson, Wendell Davis, Winston Davis, Pringle Davis and Mary Casey.
Florence was a lifelong Woman of Faith. She grew up as a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, then joined Beulah Baptist Church and Galilee Baptist Church.
Florence leaves to cherish her memory, her children, John D. McCoy, Laureece Johnson, Melvin Walker, Bruce Key and Vinson Key. She was blessed with her Grandchildren, Desmond Gray, the late Jenifer Johnson , John Johnson (Nicole), Tabari McCoy, Michael Washington, Jason Johnson (Sandra), Melvin Walker, Jr. Great Grandchildren, Devon, Ladasia, Kiara, Diamond, Michael Jr, Sequoia, Giovanny, Ariel and Dale Reece. Florence has Many Nieces and Nephews and extended Family.
