Gwendolyn Renee Lazenby

August 1, 1974 ~ May 16, 2021 (age 46)

Obituary

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Renee Lazenby made her Grand entrance into this world on August 1, 1974 to the union of Bobby W. Lazenby and Susan R. Lazenby in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Gwen was the youngest of four, which allowed her to be able to get away with almost everything! (Her mother and father were tired by that time)

Gwen was full of life and she had a smile that would light up a room (thanks to her dental insurance). Gwen’s love of dancing began at the early age of two (she won many dance contests in the neighborhood). Gwen’s dancing allowed her to be accepted into Cincinnati’s School of Creative and Performing Arts at the age of nine, where she would ultimately meet her closest and dearest sister friend for life- Tracey Piphus, the two of them have been dancing since the day they met.

Gwen graduated from Woodward High School in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1992 and went to Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Gwen transferred to the University of Cincinnati where she received her degree in Applied Sciences.

On April 9th, 1993 Gwen gave birth to her 1st King- Richard Dionte Lee aka “Pooh”. Richard would be Gwen’s one and only road dog for 11 years until she met the love of her life Jerome Johnson III, and on March 29th, 2006 Gwen gave birth to her second king Cameron “Cam” Michael Johnson.

Gwen gave her life to Christ at the age of 28 and was baptized at Resurrection Ministries for All People in Columbus, Ohio.

After a long battle with breast cancer, on Sunday May 16, 2021 Gwen told God “Lord, I cannot do this anymore! I am ready! God heard Gwen and because he loved her so much, God gave Gwen her wings and with open arms he opened Heavens gates, pulled her in and told her “job well done my child”.

Gwen was preceded in death by her grandparents Alice and Clarence Gilmore, Lucille Lazenby, uncles James “Buddy” Hughes, Ralph Garner Sr, Stacey and Larry Lazenby, cousin Arlene Amanda Garner as well as other relatives who had already transitioned and were there to welcome Gwen upon her heavenly transition.

Gwen leaves behind to cherish her memories: Parents: Bobby W. Lazenby, Susan R. Lazenby, Her love Jerome Johnson III, two loving sons Richard Dionte Lee (Ashia), Cameron Michael Johnson, two bonus sons Jamael Eric Johnson and Malik Jerome Johnson, three older siblings: Lisa M.
