Thomas (Tut) Burton was born on June 15, 1936, the twelth child to the union of John and Martha Burton in Brighton, Alabama. On April 12, 2021 at 2:48 in the afternoon, Thomas (Tut) left this life to go to his Eternal Home, surrounded by his family at his home. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and brothers: Jesse, Carolyn, Charles, Sandy, Anthony, Leatha, Ethel, Amy, Sadie, John Henry and Van.
He received a public education in Alabama and later in listed in the United States Military. In 1957 he moved to Cincinnati, OH and united with the United Baptist Church. Later on, during his Christian Journey, he united with the First New Shiloh Baptist Church, under the leadership of pastor M. J. Mangum, and the current pastor, Michael Cash.
He met his sweetheart Barbara. They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1958. Thomas had seven children, and two preceded him in death: Richard and Thomas Jr. (Tommy). Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially playing Dominos and cards with family and friends.
Thomas leaves to carry on his memory, his devoted and loving wife, Barbara; his children: Donny (Patricia), Birjeania (Shorty), Arthur (Peanut), Kelly Anne, and Kevin; eighteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; brothers sisters: Ruby, Diane, Eddie, Irvine, Myra, all of Bessemer, AL; Yvonne of Cincinnati, OH; three sister-in-laws: Dossie, Lois, Connie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and one special niece, who stands out-Yvette.
